EcoBugs are one of several data capture systems developed and manufactured by Limnoterra for monitoring groundwater, wetlands, rivers, streams, creeks, ponds, lakes, gravel pits and sewers. The EcoBug is rugged, reliable, energy efficient, battery operated, waterproof and can be installed in security casings where vandalism or tampering could be an issue. The data capture systems were developed over the past fifteen years to serve our own environmental monitoring requirements. A model of the EcoBug system was also designed to function with software analysis methods developed by Gore and Storrie Limited. In 1988, the system (called the I/I Bug at the time) received the award of merit from the Canadian Consulting Engineers Association.
